Born in Montana and bred in Los Angeles, Lux Media Group is like the band of desperados who converge together to defeat the evil sheriff monopolizing his little western town. It's our belief that high-production value video work can be achieved with affordable rates, and that it's simply the brazen hierarchy within production that allows for the myth of wild expenses to maintain. It's Lux's modus operandi to serve you with a highly talented, intimate group of creators with a multitude of proven skills who can see a project from beginning to end without hiring a massive team that exceeds your budget. Not to mention we know that filmmaking is supposed to be fun, and there's nobody more fun than us. Except Richard Branson, that dude seems pretty fun.
BEN MCMANUS
Ben. The frontman, the lead singer. Find him spinning the mic on the front stage and locking eyes with his adoring fans in the front row. He’s the ideas guy and the only way to get him to shut-up is to tie his arms behind his back. Because before you can say “scallywag,” Ben’s already snapped into one of his characters and is pitching concepts in all the depths that they deserve. On set he’s directing actors as if they were his best friends, taking them on the experience that is Ben the Frontman.
Before founding Lux, Ben was a creative director and editor for CHISEL Industries where he helped shape the brand of such clients as Mystery Ranch Backpacks, Wesco Distribution, and Headframe Spirits.
JOHN MARSICO
John. The bassist, his funky lines keep the group in check. Find him off to the side, fiddling with volume knobs to ensure the best overall quality. He’s the numbers guy, the dude with detailed eye looking for every little minutiae that will make the product soar above everything else. On set he’s staring through the lens looking for any imperfection, and in the editing room he whittles down the lump of clay into the beautiful masterpiece you always dreamed of.
Before founding Lux, John was the lead editor for Zero Point Zero West, where he sliced and diced for the critically acclaimed shows Meateater and Nomad.
JOHN SWEENEY
The Sween. He’s our drummer, the guy keeping the tempo. Find him in the back of the stage rocking out a wild solo while keeping the band on the same page. Get a camera and a few lights in this guy’s hand and he’ll transport you into a world of unrivaled beauty. Oh, did I mention he flies copters? Because he does. This guy has flown drones all across America and in over 10 other countries. So if you hear that little buzz behind your head, just know its The Sween coptering -it.
Before founding Lux, The Sween was lead cinematographer at CHISEL Industries, where he shot breathtaking images for clients such as Nissan and Headframe Spirits.
